- Forward court emails to a private address just for your firm

HOW IT WORKS
From Inbox to Calendar, in Four Steps
STEP 1
Upload or Forward
Drag in PDFs or photos — up to 25 at a time, 15 MB each — or forward court emails to your firm’s private ProperFile address. Set up a forwarding rule once and court mail shows up here by itself.
STEP 2
AI Reads the Document
The AI reads the notice, order, or letter and works out which client and matter it belongs to. Documents your team uploads straight to a client’s file are read the same way.
STEP 3
Review What It Found
Suggested court dates and tasks appear with the exact page and quote they came from, so you’re never checking a black box.
STEP 4
Approve, and It’s Filed
Accept what’s right, edit what isn’t. Nothing is saved, filed, or emailed until someone on your team says yes.
BUILT FOR HOW COURT MAIL ARRIVES
Built Around How Court Mail Actually Arrives
Upload Documents
PDFs or photos, up to 25 at a time, 15 MB each — straight from your desktop or phone.
Forward Court Emails
Every firm gets its own private forwarding address. Set up a rule once in your email, and court notices show up here by themselves — or limit it to only accept mail from the senders or domains you choose.
Works With ECF Links, Too
Useful for bankruptcy and other federal courts: turn on automatic ECF link opening, and ProperFile opens the document behind a Notice of Electronic Filing as it arrives, so the AI can read the PDF too. It uses the email’s one free PACER look, and can be turned off anytime.
Nothing Filed Without You
Every suggested court date and task waits for a human to accept it. Reviewing a suggestion is optional, and you can change any value before it’s saved.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About AI Smart Inbox
Will the AI file or send anything without me checking it first?
No. Suggested court dates and tasks wait for someone on your team to approve them. Nothing is saved, filed, or emailed on its own.
What can I upload, and is there a limit?
PDFs or photos, up to 25 documents at a time, 15 MB each. You can also forward court emails directly — the AI reads the email text and any PDFs attached to it.
Can I turn AI Smart Inbox off?
Yes, from Preferences. Turning it off stops documents and forwarded emails from being read by AI, and AI Smart Inbox leaves your menu. It also turns off AI pre-fill on the Bankruptcy Questionnaire. Your other AI tools, like Draft with AI and translations, aren’t affected.
Does AI Smart Inbox cost extra?
No extra cost during your trial — AI Smart Inbox is included. After your trial ends, it’s $20/month per firm, which includes a set amount of AI Credits. If your firm needs more, you can recharge AI Credits anytime.
